PP Wire Insulation Runs Faster Than Ever.

A new polypropylene polypropylene (pŏl'ēprō`pəlēn), plastic noted for its light weight, being less dense than water; it is a polymer of propylene. It resists moisture, oils, and solvents.  wire-insulation compound reportedly can be extruded much faster than competitive products and still avoid centering problems that typically restrict line speeds when coating PP insulation on thin-gauge copper wire. Petrothene PP 4173-WF from Equistar Chemicals, LP, Houston, is said to extrude extrude /ex·trude/ (ek-strldbomacd´)

Synthetic and natural antioxidants are used to slow the deterioration of gasoline and rubber, and such antioxidants as vitamin C (ascorbic acid), butylated hydroxytoluene  that reportedly ensures processing stability and excellent long-term aging.
