POP / SNEAK PEEK : AN ALL-ELECTRIC CHRISTMAS FOR PRESIDENTS.

Seattle's wacky rockers the Presidents of the United States of America The Presidents of the United States of America may refer to:
  • President of the United States, the head of state of the United States of America
  • The Presidents of the United States of America (band), a Seattle alternative rock band
will bring electric guitars to KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas show this month, but plan to add an unplugged segment when the trio hits the road next year.

``We're going to bring our regular old rock rig,'' said Presidents drummer Jason Finn A few people have the name, Jason Finn.

The band appears Dec. 14 for KROQ at the Universal Amphitheatre with Cake, the Eels, Orbital orbital

After the trio's self-titled debut sold 2.3 million copies last year, the Presidents were under some stress when it came time to record a follow-up, Finn said.

``I'd be lying if I said there weren't any expectations regarding the whole thing,'' the 29-year-old drummer said this week. ``But we concentrated on making the best record we could and didn't worry about things we can't control.''

Since the Prezzies took off, Finn's home life has remained pretty much unchanged. He still has a side band, '80s Proof, which covers hits from the previous decade. On Halloween, the band appeared at a Seattle club knocking out nothing but goth-rock tunes.

``It's still a fun music scene here,'' Finn said. ``There are lots of great bands and places to play.''

Finn said the Presidents - which also includes Dave Dederer Dave Dederer, best known as guitarist and singer for the Presidents of the United States of America, was born on October 5, 1964. ``It's something we thought about,'' he said. ``But it was our own idea. We're not a band that needs a lot of help with recording or setting up our live show. I guess you could say all three of us are control freaks control freak Slang
