The Clippers' reasons for losing 10 of their past 11 games keep mounting. On Thursday night, there were many reasons, but the big one was simple - the Washington Wizards made their 3-pointers, and the Clippers' shooting was ugly.

The Clippers tied a season high by allowing 11 3-pointers as they lost a sixth consecutive game with a 103-94 loss to the Wizards in front of 15,293 at Staples Center.

By shooting 37.8 percent from the field, the Clippers lost for the 14th time in their past 16 games.

After the Clippers trailed by two points, Wizards reserve Steve Blake made a 3-pointer with 2:25 left to give Washington a 91-86 lead.

The Clippers' Corey Maggette sank two free throws on the next possession, but that was as close as the Clippers got as the Wizards went on a 6-0 run to take control and have a 97-88 lead with 50.8 seconds left.

After the opening minutes, the Clippers never led.

Corey Maggette scored 25 points, and Elton Brand had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Clippers.

Reserve swingman Bobby Simmons, who spent the previous two seasons with Washington, had 15 points, a career-high 10 rebounds and six assists.

Larry Hughes had 30 points and 12 rebounds, and Blake was 6 for 6 for 17 points in 18 minutes to lead Washington (23-48), which ended a losing streak at two games.
