PONTIAC AUTO SHOW DISPLAY TO FEATURESIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATOR FOR HEARING IMPAIRED

DETROIT, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Lynn Lashbrook is an unusual auto show narrator. She speaks volumes about Pontiac vehicles without uttering a single word.
Lashbrook, a certified Michigan signer, will serve as a sign language interpreter for the hearing impaired at the Pontiac display at the North American International Auto Show.
Pontiac is the first and only automotive company at the show to provide a translator for the hearing impaired.
"We wanted every visitor to the show to have the opportunity to not only see the sights, but to learn about the vehicles, the technology and the latest innovations," said Al Fisher, assistant sales promotion manager -- auto shows/event management. "Having a sign language interpreter on hand makes that possible for the hearing impaired and enables them to more fully experience the show and enjoy it even more."
For help in locating someone with signing ability, Pontiac looked to Publications Plus, a Birmingham, Mich.-based talent agency that provides Pontiacs's narrators for the national auto show circuit.
Lashbrook, who is an instructor of sign language, will work the Pontiac display in conjunction with a speaking narrator, simultaneously translating into sign language. She can be found at the Pontiac display during tonight's black-tie charity preview, on the weekends during peak show hours and all weekday auto show hours.
