POLITICAL BRIEFS : JOHNSON ENDORSED BY TEACHERS UNION.


PALMDALE - Palmdale School District's teachers union endorsed candidate Ray Johnson for a school board seat.

The Palmdale Elementary Teachers Association, in its announcement, said Johnson is familiar with educational issues, wants board members to be more visible at schools and more accessible to parents and teachers, and has concerns for the needs of Palmdale's diverse population and children with special needs.

Measure E gains support of groups

LANCASTER - Antelope Valley California Republican League and the Antelope Valley California Congress of Republicans endorsed Measure E, the $91 million bond measure to build and modernize schools for Antelope Valley Union High School District.

The groups, in an announcement Wednesday, said they endorsed seven-term incumbent Wilda Andrejcik for the high school board, businesswoman Robin Kessler for Westside Union School District board and insurance agent John Currado for Antelope Valley College board.
