POLICE SEIZE DRUGS, WEAPONS; CACHES FOUND IN BURBANK, N. HOLLYWOOD HOMES.

It is unclear what the Burbank and North Hollywood residents intended to do with the weapons, Skvarna said, adding, ``I don't think they had any dark plan or anything.''

Authorities from Burbank's narcotics special enforcement and gang units spent two weeks watching a house in the 400 block of North Shelton Street for possible illegal drug activity, Skvarna said. Their investigation led them to a house in the 12500 block of Vose Street in North Hollywood.

They searched both places at 7 a.m. Thursday and recovered a pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia drug paraphernalia Controlled paraphernalia Substance abuse As defined in a regulatory context, DP is a hypodermic syringe, needle, metal or plastic (snorting) tube, or other instrument or implement or combination adapted for the administration of controlled , an Ingram MAC-11 machine pistol and a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol A semi-automatic pistol is a type of handgun that can be fired in semi-automatic mode, firing one cartridge for each pull of the trigger. This type of firearm uses a single chamber and a single barrel, which remain in a fixed linear orientation relative to each other while being  from the Burbank site, he said.

In North Hollywood, officers found realistic-looking replicas of a sub-machine gun and a 9 mm pistol, he said. Also in the house was a large quantity of marijuana, knives and an 18-inch ax with a stone blade and heavy wooden handle.

Officials are checking with other area police to see if any of the recovered weapons are registered or have been used in recent crimes.

Police found three packs of the drug, with 12 to a pack, but some were missing, Skvarna said. An unspecified amount of cash, scales, plastic bags and sheets of paper listing whether buyers had been paid or not were found at the Vose Street house as well.
