POLICE SEEK DUO IN STATION HEIST.Byline: Daily News SIMI VALLEY - Police are searching for two men they say robbed a gas station early Monday morning and who are suspected to be involved in a scuffle with a taxi driver that occurred just minutes earlier. The two men entered the Chevron gas station at 2449 Stearns St. at 1 a.m. One of the men brandished a knife, threatened the clerk and demanded cash from the register, police said. The clerk handed over an undetermined amount of money, and the two men fled the scene. The store clerk was not hurt in the robbery, police said. They were last seen driving northbound on Stearns Street in a late 1980s Chevrolet Camaro. According to Simi Valley police spokesman Sgt. Bob Gardner, the same suspects are believed to have been involved in an altercation with a taxi driver less than 10 minutes before the gas station robbery. According to Gardner, two men briefly scuffled with a taxi driver who confronted them at the Tree House Bar on Tapo Street as the men attempted to break a window of an adjacent business. No one was injured in either incident. |
