 POLAROID TO BE AWARDED MEXICO'S VOTER PHOTO ID PROGRAM
 CAMBRIDGE, Mass., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaroid Corporation (NYSE: PRD) announced today that the Mexican government has selected the company's Mexican subsidiary, Polaroid de Mexico, to supply photo identification cards for the country's voter registration program.
 The program was initiated by the government of Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari to promote equity and openness in its electoral process. Polaroid will provide specially designed cards to eligible voters in Mexico over the next two years in preparation for the country's 1994 national election.
 Working with Mexico's Instituto Federal Electoral, Polaroid will provide Miniportrait camera systems, special instant Polacolor film, and voter registration photo cards with multiple security features to verify voter identification.
 The film will be manufactured at Polaroid's Queretaro, Mexico plant.
