 POLAROID INTRODUCES CAMERA KIT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES;
 IMAGES USED AS AID TO TRIAGE
 CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaroid today introduced a new camera kit for emergency medical services.
 The Polaroid EMS Photo Kit is designed to assist emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics with the documentation of mechanism of injury (MOI) in motor vehicle crashes and other trauma incidents. The camera features reinforced body construction, built-in close-up lens; high intensity flash; flash override button; enhanced internal circuitry; photo tips label; and a rugged, high-visibility orange body. Accessories include 100 call report photo documentation forms for picture/image management; a 12-point "how-to" EMS Photo Protocol instruction sheet; orientation videotape; two packs of 600 Plus film; and a durable safety orange nylon carrying case.
 Studies conducted by Dr. Richard Hunt, assistant professor of emergency medicine at the East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C. indicate that knowledge of the severity and location of automobile crash damage is frequently important in determining the type and extent of injuries that may have been sustained by passengers.
 "Because images can help improve care for trauma patients by providing emergency department physicians with an objective triage tool, my colleagues and I worked closely with Polaroid to develop a specific protocol to allow for the effective use of instant photos in emergency care," stated Dr. Hunt. "I expect that photo documentation of MOI will become standard protocol for EMS in the future."
 There are more than 35,000 EMT squads actively operating in the United States. These units respond to a variety of trauma incidents, including over 13 million motor vehicle crashes annually.
 The EMS camera system, priced at $139.95, carries a five-year warranty and is covered by a 48-hour return policy, and offers an image guarantee on all images that do not meet customer expectations.
 The Polaroid EMS Photo Kit is available immediately from Polaroid Express, 800-552-0711, extension 62, or through select EMS specialty dealers.
 Polaroid Corporation (NYSE: PRD), with sales of more than $2 billion, is the worldwide leader in instant imaging. The company supplies instant photographic cameras and films, conventional films, videotapes and electronic visual communication products to family, business and technical and industrial markets.
