POLAROID INTRODUCES BREAKTHROUGH INSTANT COLOR PRINT FILM TO U.S. PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY MARKET

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaroid (NYSE: PRD) today introduced its most technically advanced instant color print film ever to the U.S. professional photography market.
Polacolor Pro 100 sets a new standard for Polaroid instant color peel-apart print film used widely by professional photographers in proofing and final art applications.
Formulated with a new "Polahybrid" chemistry, Polacolor Pro 100 produces a fine-grained emulsion for vivid, saturated colors, true photographic clarity, and an almost three-dimensional effect. These new high-quality attributes offer professional photographers virtually true-to-life, brilliant colors for an exceptionally accurate match to the original subject of the photograph.
Polacolor Pro 100 film will be available in the U.S. this spring through authorized Polaroid dealers, with prices for various formats to be announced in February. The film was introduced in Europe last September.
Many of the new film's features are based on field tests and extensive input from professional photographers. In addition to the increased sharpness and enhanced color saturation and fidelity, Polaroid Polacolor Pro 100 has a film speed rating of ISO 100, matching the standard speed of many conventional chrome and color negative films.
The film also performs accurately and consistently over a wide temperature range, maintaining its ISO 100 speed stability from 55 to 95 degrees F. This consistency within a 40-degree range eliminates the need to compensate for ambiant temperature changes. Polacolor Pro 100 film develops in 90 seconds.
Polacolor Pro 100 is the latest film release in a long history of imaging innovation at Polaroid. The first instant film products were unveiled by the company in 1947. Specialty film products for professional photographers were introduced 35 years ago in 1958. The first instant color film for the professional photographer was unveiled in 1963. Today, Polaroid offers more than 50 different instant films for professional-technical applications.
Polaroid Corporation, with sales of more than $2 billion, is the worldwide leader in instant imaging. The company supplies instant photographic cameras and films, conventional cameras and films, videotapes, and electronic imaging products to markets worldwide, including amateur and professional photography, industry, science, medicine, and education.
