POLAR PACK'S NOW AVAILABLE TO CONSUMERS

MIAMI, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Mid-Lands Chemical Company of Hialeah, Fla., manufacturers of an inexpensive ice substitute, are now marketing to the retail consumer.
Made of a non-toxic, water soluble gel, re-usable Polar Packs are tough, durable and economical, and can be used either hot or cold. Available in hard or soft packs from 8 to 36 ounces, as well as a flexible shape holding pack.
Polar Packs are currently used by manufacturers and wholesalers of flowers, seafood, dairy products and other perishable foods to maintain product quality while in transport. They are also used by the medical industry to protect specimens, vaccines and serums, as well as by doctors, dentists, chiropractors, hospitals and veterinarians for the treatment of injuries.
Used cold, Polar Packs are perfect for camping, hunting, fishing, coolers and lunch boxes or wherever you would traditionally use ice. Used as a cold or warm compress, the flexible pack, available in cloth with velcro fasteners, can be used in the treatment of minor or athletic injuries, or for the relief of general aches and pains.
 HURRICANE SUPPLIES
With hurricane season fast approaching, Mid-Lands Chemical Company is working toward making Polar Packs available to consumers, through supermarkets, recommending they become a part of every South Florida household's hurricane supplies.
Polar Packs have innumberable uses in a hurricane situation and can be purchased and stored months in advance, to safeguard against stores being out of stock during a hurricane warning.
Polar Packs far outlast regular ice, staying cold in your freezer or refrigerator for up to three to four days, thus protecting its contents, in the event the power is cut off. In the case of first aid treatment, the Polar Pack warm or cold compress is invaluable.
Mid-Lands Chemical Company originated in Omaha, Neb. in 1972 and now manufactures in Miami.
