While dealing with his heartache, Smedley decided to have a little fun and entered a poem in the statewide Got Milk Poetry Slam poetry slam

``I just made some analogies between girl deprivation and milk deprivation,'' he said. ``My girlfriend and I had just broken up, and I found it easy to relate the feelings I felt to milk deprivation.''

Smedley presented his poem at the semifinalist competition held Oct. 20 in Hollywood, and while he was nervous at first because of the television cameras and people watching People watching or crowd watching is a hobby of some people to watch those around them and their interactions. And living without you is like running out of milk,

It starts a decay deep inside my bones,

Losing you was like eating peppers with no milk,

I wasn't prepared for the pain it would bring,

Trying to hold onto you is like tryin to grasp milk,

All you will do is slip right out of my hands,

And not knowing you is like never tasting a milkshake,

For my love and your love will never be mixed,

And loving you is like loving milk, but being poor,

Not having enough money to buy some more

So even though I don't have you, do I still ``Got Milk?''
