Located in the Four Corners region of New Mexico, the City of Aztec operates a public electric utility serving more than 7,000 residential and commercial customers. The agreement with the City of Aztec is the latest in a series of power contracts recently announced by PNM. Since November 2005, PNM has signed agreements to provide more than 260 megawatts of electricity to municipal utilities, the U.S. Navy in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. and APS, Arizona's largest electricity supplier. PNM's wholesale power strategy is to market energy to municipal utilities and other power suppliers throughout the Southwest and West under long-term contracts.
