PNC BANK, PITTSBURGH, PROMOTES TWO IN CREDIT POLICY DIVISION

 PITTSBURGH, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- PNC Bank, Pittsburgh, today announced the promotion of George Lula to executive vice president, credit policy, and George Brikis to senior vice president and manager, credit policy.
 Both will administer credit policy within the Pittsburgh market, said Bruce E. Robbins, president and chief executive officer of PNC Bank, Pittsburgh. Brikis will report to Lula, who in turn will report to Robbins.
 "These promotions reflect the value of the special perspectives these two employees bring to our credit policy efforts," said Robbins. "One of our critical ongoing goals at PNC Bank is maintaining high credit quality, and that is done primarily through the insight and experience of our people."
 The Credit Policy Division of PNC Bank, Pittsburgh, was previously headed by Senior Vice President Paul B. Caton, Jr., who will retire March 31 after a 36-year career with the bank.
 Lula joined the bank in 1987 as managing director of loan syndication in PNC Merchant Banking, and progressed to senior vice president and manager of portfolio analysis administration in Corporate Credit Policy. Lula holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
 Brikis has been with the bank since 1981. He has served as corporate line of business coordinator for natural resources lending and most recently as vice president and manager of the bank's natural resources department in Specialized Corporate Banking. He holds a bachelor's degree in mining engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a master of business administration degree from Duquesne University.
