PML-N decides not to support PPP candidate Jamshed Dasti in Muzaffargarh by-polls.

ISLAMABAD, April 12, 2010 (Frontier Star): Pakistan Muslim League-N has decided to remain impartial and not to support to Pakistan Peoples Party The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) (Urdu: پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی ) is a mainstream centre-left political party in Pakistan. It is led by chairperson Benazir Bhutto.  candidate in Muzaffargarh NA -178 by-poll after PPP decided to award ticket to Jamshed Dasti. PML-N had assured Pakistan People Party of its support in case it grant party ticket for by-poll to Prime Ministers brother Mujtaba Gilani, after the Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had contacted the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and sought their support in the similar way as the PPP had extended in the Gujrat by poll. The sources said that the Prime minister before leaving to United States to attend international conference had again contacted the PML-N and sough sough ¬†

 the party support for Jamshed Dasti. The sources said that the PM request was candidly turned down by the top PML-N leadership. The PM was informed that Nawabzada Iftikhar Ali Khan had sought the PML-N ticket for the same constituency but he was refused on the ground that the party will not put any candidate against PMs brother. The sources said the PM as informed that the PML-N would not render any support to the candidate Jamshed Dasti at all. The PML-N brushed aside the media report regarding extending any support to ex-governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar Ghulam Mustafa Khar Malik (Urdu: غلام مصطفیٰ کھر), (born August 2 1937) was a close ally of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his chief minister in Punjab, Pakistan during the 1970s.  in the by-poll.
