PLX Technology, Memec Unique Announce Agreement on Distribution of PLX PCI, PCI-X Products.

PLX Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:PLXT), the leading supplier of standard I/O interconnect silicon to the communications, server, storage, embedded-control, and consumer industries, and Memec Unique, a division of The Memec Group, a leading global semiconductor distributor specializing in demand creation, today announced a distribution agreement for PLX's lines of advanced PCI and PCI-X bridging silicon. Memec Unique now is PLX's distributor in the Americas for the FastLane(TM) line of PCI-to-PCI and PCI-X-to-PCI-X bridging devices and the PLX(R) PCI I/O Accelerator chips.

The agreement is the latest measure by PLX to further expand its already-extensive presence in domestic and international markets. PLX has in place a network of distributors and sales representatives, along with regional offices, in the U.S., South America, Europe, Asia, Japan, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand. The addition of Memec Unique and its team of highly trained sales staff and field applications engineers will enable PLX to further penetrate the board- and system-design markets in the Americas.

The PLX FastLane series features the industry's broadest set of PCI-to-PCI and PCI-X to PCI-X bridges. These bridges allow more devices to be attached to the PCI bus, and provide the ability to include intelligent adapters on a PCI bus. Additionally, these bridges allow PCI buses of different speeds to be part of the same subsystem.

PLX's PCI I/O Accelerator line offers standard, off-the-shelf integrated circuits that provide a performance and time-to-market advantage to designers and manufacturers. Based on the PCI standard, PLX I/O Accelerator products range from simple target-only chips to powerful bridging devices that efficiently move data with minimal processing intervention.
