BUSINESS ON THE NET: It seems so easy - create a World Wide Web page and start selling your products around the globe. But Canadian Business Canadian Business is the longest-publishing business magazine in Canada. It was founded in 1928 as The Commerce of the Nation, the organ of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. The magazine was renamed Canadian Business in 1933.  magazine has a caveat: You could find yourself violating laws, copyrights or patents in other countries. The magazine suggests Web entrepreneurs research the markets they're likely to be doing business in, and be sure they are complying with local regulations. For example, if a company would put a warning that ``this offer is not valid on Saskatchewan'' in a print ad, it should also be included in a Web site.

WEB LINKS CLINTON/GORE ON LINE: A new head-to-head battlefield in the presidential campaign opened Wednesday when the Clinton-Gore re-election campaign went on line with a colorful site on the World Wide Web. President Clinton's certain Republican opponent, former Sen. Bob Dole, has been on line for many months with his own campaign home page. The new site, at http:// www.cg96.org, features a menu page that shows pictures of the president and vice president together, with a new shot popping up every few seconds. At the bottom of the page is a crawl message that recites what has become the campaign's mantra: ``We have great news to share with you.'' In contrast, Dole's site, at http:/ /www.dole96.com, looks more static.
