The San Francisco-based company, which publishes Wired magazine and has an Internet site, declined to disclose the terms of the financing or provide the names of the investors. Wired has posted losses since it was launched as a magazine in 1993, largely as it spent on its new ventures, including its HotWired Web site. For the first half of the year, the company's loss widened to $34.7 million from $3.18 million a year ago.
