PLAYSKOOL'S BIG IDEAS FOR LITTLE KIDS PREVIEWED AT 1993 TOY FAIR

-- Major Barney Licensing Agreement Announced,
In-Line Skates for Preschoolers To Be Rolled Out --
PAWTUCKET, R.I., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Playskool leads off 1993 with a lineup of innovative products that reflects today's trends and issues, while sharing the Playskool quality kids and parents have come to trust.
A major licensing agreement with the makers of Barney, the six-foot tall purple dinosaur whose fame has swept the nation, a line of soft dolls and toys called Kids of Color that encourage a child's appreciation of cultural diversity, and a new in-line skate that will help kids as young as three learn to skate, will all be previewed at Toy Fair starting February 8th.
Other big news for '93: Big Frank, a talking monster pal who needs a friend to fix his "broken" parts; Krystal Princesses, fantasy-filled dolls who live in snow domes surrounded by glittering krystals so kids can shake up some magic; and Sparkling Play-Doh, a shining example of how Playskool continues to update their classic toys for today's kids.
"Parents turn to Playskool for stimulating, fun products and we think they'll be very pleased with what we have in store for 1993," comments senior vice president of marketing, Sharon Hartley. "We're always working to develop innovative, high-quality toys today that will become tomorrow's classics."
Along with all the new introductions are milestones for two of Playskool's most legendary toys. Tinkertoys, the classic toy of construction and motion, is turning 80 this year, having been a favorite for three generations. Lincoln Logs, invented in 1916 by Frank Lloyd Wright's son, has been redesigned with a lighter, more contemporary wood stain.
Founded in 1938, Playskool is the infant and preschool division of Hasbro, Inc. (AMEX: HAS), the largest toy manufacturer in the world. Together, Playskool's baby and preschool lines feature a complete selection of premium products to entertain, stimulate, feed and clothe children from birth through six years old.
