PLANM: SMUSH IN, FIGHTS OUT L.A. NEEDS PARKER, NOT CONFLICTS.

Byline: VINCENT VINCENT Vital Information Necessary Centralized (movie, The Black Hole)  BONSIGNORE Staff Writer

High atop the Lakers' list of keys for their Game 6 matchup against the Suns on Thursday were a couple of conspicuous do's and don'ts.

Do: Get Smush Parker William Henry "Smush" Parker (born June 1 1981, in New York, New York) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association.[1] Parker played shooting guard in college, but moved to point guard in the NBA.  back on track.

Don't: Get drawn into a street fight with a desperate bunch of Suns intent on taking the series back to Phoenix for a Game 7.

The former was on the urging of Lakers coach Phil Jackson

Philip Douglas "Phil" Jackson (born September 17, 1945 in Deer Lodge, Montana) is the current coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, an American professional basketball team.
, talked with Parker about the importance of getting his game back on track.

Parker was a pivotal factor during the first three games of the series, two of which were Lakers wins. Dynamic on the defensive end and confident

offensively, he forced Phoenix star Steve Nash Steven John Nash, OBC (born February 7, 1974),[1] is a Canadian professional basketball player who plays point guard for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nash was brought up in a family of sportsmen and he excelled in a variety of sports.  to exert energy on both ends of the floor. The 15 points he scored in Game 1 and the 18 he recorded in Game 3 didn't hurt, either.

But he faded a bit in the past two games, a slip that coincided with Nash playing his best ball of the series. For the Lakers to avoid a return trip to Phoenix to play a deciding Game 7, Parker knew he had to get going again.

``We thought Smush Smush was an American game show which aired on the USA Network in 2001.[1]

Smush was hosted by Ken Ober and co-hosted by Lisa Dergan[1]. The show, set in a basement party atmosphere, featured four contestants trying to "smush" the answers to clues
was an instrumental in the first three games for us,'' Jackson said. ``In Games 4 and 5, he was taken out of his game and taken out of this series. We've tried to assert the fact how important it is for him to play the wayhe did and to give us those little things. Hold the ball up a little bit, make a steal, get a dunk on a reverse. He can really have an impact.''

Said Parker: ``I'm ready I'm Ready is the double platinum second release from R&B singer Tevin Campbell. I'm Ready yielded the biggest R&B hit of his career the #1 R&B smash "Can We Talk", and produce 3 more successful hits in "I'm Ready", "Always In My Heart" and "Don't Say Goodbye Girl". . I'm more than prepared. I'll come out and contribute defensively and offensively. The last couple of games, I've been a little inactive but I plan to step it up tonight.

The later was more of a mind-set, and Jackson didn't waste any method to make sure the Lakers mood was strong but serene. Part of the Lakers day Thursday was spent meditating, a drill Jackson has been known to use over the years to get his players in the right frame of mind.

``We take moments to be quiet before we work into what we'll do during the day,'' Jackson said. ``It's a focus, when you concentrate on breath control and making sure you're centered. That's one of the aspects of playing ball that's important. It's making sure the focus is on the team, not yourself.''

One of the themes Jackson focused on was not getting drawn into a game of retribution with the Suns after Raja Bell Raja Bell (born September 19, 1976 in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands) is a basketball shooting guard who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns.

Bell grew up in the greater Miami area attending Miami Killian Senior High School.
took out Kobe Bryant Kobe Bean Bryant (born July 23 1978(1978--)) is an American All-Star shooting guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.  in Game 5, saying it's fine to want to protect your teammate, but all within reason.

``We talked a lot about retaliation RETALIATION. The act by which a nation or individual treats another in the same manner that the latter has treated them. For example, if a nation should lay a very heavy tariff on American goods, the United States would be justified in return in laying heavy duties on the manufactures and ,'' Jackson said. ``It's not about that. It's about being firm, and yet making sure you protect your own territory. It's a warrior's mentality.''
