Rubin was born in Canada, but after experiencing widespread anti-Semitism in his home city of Montreal, he and his parents and sister moved to the neighborhood and Earl Krugel Earl Leslie Krugel (November 24, 1942 – November 4, 2005) was the West Coast coordinator of the Jewish Defense League (JDL). The planning moved forward and on Friday during a discussion of the timing, Krugel allegedly said Rubin would pay for the bomb's components. The next day, the informant met Rubin outside a Starbucks in the Valley and was asked whether he had bought ``Unique brand smokeless powder.'' Rubin said he wanted to change the target to a mosque. On Monday, the informant bought pipes for the bomb at the Home Depot in Woodland Hills and was told by Krugel to buy the end-caps separately. Tuesday night, the informant met Krugel and Rubin at Jerry's Famous Deli Wikipedia is not the place for advertisement or self-advertising. Jerry's Famous Deli is a Los Angeles-based delicatessen famous for its huge menu, which boasts over 700 deli and traditional food items. in Encino where they dined. Rubin briefly left and returned with papers listing potential bombing targets. The informant went with Krugel to his home and they unloaded the powder in the garage. The three were supposed to continue their plan Wednesday but federal authorities swept in. |
