So you haven't booked that romantic around-the-world cruise? Or planted greenhouses of red roses? Or ordered tons of chocolates? Well, there still may be time to salvage Valentine's Day Valentine's Day: see Saint Valentine's Day.

Lovers' holiday celebrated on February 14, the feast day of St. Valentine, one of two 3rd-century Roman martyrs of the same name. St.
 with some special romantic travel packages for two.

Accommodations become scarce as the lovers' holiday approaches so it's best to call ahead to make sure you'll be able to find a romantic rendezvous on that special day. But late-planners get a break this year: Since Valentine's Day falls on Wednesday, lovers can legitimately choose either the weekend before or the weekend after for a romantic tryst.

The Napa Valley Wine Train The Napa Valley Wine Train is operated by the Napa Valley Railroad (AAR reporting marks NVRR). The train is a privately operated excursion train that runs between Napa and St. Helena, California.  has scheduled a special Valentine's Day Dinner Train on Feb. 14 featuring wine and flowers on its 36-mile trip past 26 wineries through the heart of California's wine country. The Hilton Suites hotel in Beverly Hills offers the "More Amour" package that includes suite lodgings, champagne, chocolates, plush bathrobes, bubble bath and body lotion, and breakfast for two. The Marriott Casamagna Puerto Vallarta in Mexico offers a four-day, three-night "Escape to Romance" package through April 6 including champagne, daily breakfast for two, health club use and dinner. Cost is $450 per couple; taxes and tips are not included. Information: (800) 223-6388.

The SeaVenture Resort in Pismo Beach offers its "Romantic Enchantment" package that includes oceanfront lodgings with fireplace and spa, $40 dinner certificate, a dozen roses and champagne. If money is no object, you might want to book the Stanford Court's "Ultimate Romance" package, an eight-day, seven-night event that includes limousine rides, a stay in a two-bedroom suite with a private butler, champagne, daily breakfast and dinner with champagne and caviar, helicopter service to Carmel for golf, use of a private yacht for one day, and monogrammed bathrobes. The price: a mere $30,000 per couple.
