PITTSBURGH TO BECOME USAIR'S NUMBER ONE CONNECTING HUB ON MAY 1

PITTSBURGH TO BECOME USAIR'S NUMBER ONE CONNECTING HUB ON MAY 1
PITTSBURGH, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir and USAir Express will increase service from 482 to 505 daily departures at the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport on May 1, 1992, making Pittsburgh the largest hub on the USAir system. Contributing to the increased number of departures will be the introduction of new nonstop flying from Pittsburgh to Jacksonville, Fla., New Haven, White Plains, and Wichita.
"Our expansion here illustrates the increasing importance of Pittsburgh and the Northeastern United States to the strength of the USAir system," said Byron Aber, USAir district sales manager in Pittsburgh. "We are looking forward to further expansion when the new Mid-field Terminal opens in October 1992," he added.
The new flights to Jacksonville will depart daily from Pittsburgh at 2:19 p.m. and arrive at 4:09 p.m. The flight will depart Jacksonville at 7:20 a.m. and arrive here 9:12 a.m.
Operated with 103-passenger Fokker 100s, the new service to White Plains will depart Pittsburgh at 11:25 a.m., 4:35 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. New arrivals from White Plains will be at 8:47 a.m., 2:32 p.m. and 7:42 p.m.
Members of the USAir Frequent Traveler Program will receive double miles on the new hourly service between Philadelphia and Boston and the new nonstop jet flights from Philadelphia to Nassau and reinstated Las Vegas service through June 30, 1992.
