PINOAK DIGITAL ANNOUNCES INTERNET CONNECTION...THE UNIVERSAL ACCESS TO CYBERSPACE
Pin0ak Digital is the pioneering leader in high-speed, high-frequency, low cost digital (H2 DIGITAL) communications at sea. The Company received licensing authority in 1994 from the FCC and provides service to the marine members of its private coast radio station WHW462. Pin0ak Digital's system uses a highly automated and innovative suite of computer software allowing its member users to receive cost-efficient data transfers, including weather and safety information, and particularly E-mail (browsing is not provided). Through this new Internet access, the Company now provides E-mail from its member users (and vice versa) at sea to other Internet users at a cost significantly less than industry norms.
Peter M. Detwiler, Chairman and Founder of the Company, stated, "This new technology is creating an entirely new industry based upon the use of low cost high-frequency circuits without expensive infrastructures -- such as satellites. The use of powerful but relatively cheap microprocessors and an entirely new approach to radio modulation software has, after decades of work, solved many of the problems heretofore inherently involved with high-frequency circuits. This small system is installed on the vessel between the generally existing computer and standard High-Frequency Marine Radio."
