PIMA'S annual IT conference a success.


Over the past year, PIMA's goal has been to enhance its locus on educating and training PIMA members. The first national PIMA conference of 2003 was a success in furthering that goal.

The IT Committee presented the 35th Annual PIMA Information Technology International Conference at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver April 27-30. The program kicked off with a keynote address keynote address

Packed between these two events was a wealth of general sessions on the latest technology, cost-management ideas, advice on adding value to your organization and an update on Microsoft's strategy for the future. In addition, breakout sessions guided attendees through various topics on supply-chain, technology, management and cost-management issues. The IT Conference also featured a number of exhibits from leading industry vendors. The Exhibit Hall was full of people eager to see the latest software from several different companies. Many exhibitors and a few non-exhibiting companies took advantage of the Technology Showcases, half-hour time slots in which the companies demonstrated their latest products and services to conference attendees.

The conference location was also a highlight of this year's event. Set in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia British Columbia, province (2001 pop. 3,907,738), 366,255 sq mi (948,600 sq km), including 6,976 sq mi (18,068 sq km) of water surface, W Canada. Geography
, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver helped make this year's conference a truly international affair. This year's conference featured attendees from all over the globe, including Germany, Sweden, Finland, China, Canada, and Chile.
