 PILATUS SELECTS LUCAS FOR PC-XII PROGRAM
 FARNBOROUGH, England, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucas Aerospace has


been selected to furnish the 300 ampere electrical power system for the new Pilatus PC-XII multi-role cargo/transport/passenger aircraft, which will be built by Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. of Stans, Switzerland.
 Lucas' system will provide both engine starting and primary electrical power for the aircraft, and was selected due to its lightweight and proven design -- neither of which could be matched by the competition. Pre-series production requirements are scheduled to be complete by April 1993, with full production requirements scheduled to begin late 1993. Value of the entire contract exceeds $300,000.
 The generators are designed and produced by Lucas Aerospace Power Equipment of Aurora, Ohio. The business is part of the international group of business units that comprise the Aircraft Systems Division, which, in addition to its electric power generation capabilities, designs, develops and manufactures equipment and systems for ice protection, missile casings and actuation, cockpit and cabin windows and cargo handling systems.
