PHONE-OR BNS SYSTEM ENHANCES MOTOROLA TELEMATIC SYSTEMS.

Israel-based Phone-Or and Motorola (NYSE: MOT) have brought the Phone-Or Background Noise Suppression (BNS) microphone system to Motorola's next generation of Telematics automotive applications. The two companies have exclusively brought Phone-Or's technology to Motorola Telematics initiatives to some major markets around the world. Phone-Or microphones are available in Motorola Telematics systems model year 2001.

Integration of the Phone-Or BNS system optical microphone into Motorola Telematics systems will enhance voice recognition capabilities in the automobile, thereby improving the in-car communications experience. By eliminating ambient background noise, voice recognition systems will function easier, giving system users an increased voice recognition rate and improved sound in the noisy car environment.

With the momentum towards legislation of hands-free mobile phone usage in the automobile, the Motorola/Phone-Or collaboration expects to bring added benefit to the telematics systems Motorola sells to the world's leading automotive manufacturers.

"Motorola is pleased to collaborate with Phone-Or in bringing this exciting technology solution to our automotive customers," said Marios Zenios, general manager and corporate vice president, Motorola Telematics Communications Group. "This technology that enhances voice recognition systems will allow drivers to better utilize their Telematics systems for a truly hands-free experience. We anticipate much success with this relationship."

"Combining the creativity, excitement and implementation capabilities of Phone-Or's team with the well recognized leadership of the Motorola Telematics team, together we are able to create a higher value for our customer," said Oded Turbahn, president and CEO of Phone-Or Ltd. "This winning combination will maximize the return on investments, rapidly advancing cutting edge solutions into the automotive marketplace for the benefit of our mutual customers and shareholders, thus paving the way to more joint activities."
