PHILLIPS SAYS RYTON PPS LINE NOT BEING SOLD

 HOUSTON, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- John VanBuskirk, Phillips Petroleum Company's (NYSE: P) vice president of plastics, said Phillips has not sold its line of Ryton(R) polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) engineering thermoplastics.
 "Apparently a rumor about an impending sale was deliberately placed with plastics and chemicals trade magazine editors. It wa ?not true," he said.
 In 1991, Phillips considered the sale of its Ryton PPS business, but in March 1992, the company announced it would continue to manufacture, market and support the Ryton PPS product line. "We intend to continue supporting Ryton PPS," said VanBuskirk said.
 Ryton PPS is an engineering plastics product line of Phillips 66 Company, a division of Phillips Petroleum.
