PHILANTHROPIST OTT DIES AT AGE 51.Byline: Daily News NEWHALL - Valencia resident Randy Ott OTT - Over the top. Excessive or uncalled for., a business owner and local philanthropist, died Thursday morning of a heart attack at his vacation home in Alaska. He was 51. Ott gave generously to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita and was known by friends as a generous, sweet and lively man. He owned a business, Import Stone, and in his free time played golf and traveled to Craig, Alaska, where he enjoyed fishing and had recently purchased a vacation home Vacation Home A home separate from an individual's primary residence that is used for recreational purposes and may also be rented out at unused times.Notes: For tax purposes, those who rent their vacation homes may result in a lower amount of allowable expense deductions. He was just full of life and I'll miss him a great deal,'' Fleming said. On top of his work with the Boys & Girls Club, Ott was a member of the board of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Health Foundation, where he contributed generously to the foundation's programs. Recently, Ott donated granite from his store to some of the hospital's building projects. ``He was an exceptionally nice man, charming sweet man,'' said Allan Cameron, a friend of Ott's. Ott is survived by his wife, Anna, and their daughter Deana Ott, who also lives in Valencia. Services for Ott had not yet been planned. |
