PGP Corporation, a global leader in digital information security, today released PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) A data encryption program from PGP Corporation, Palo Alto, CA (www.pgp.com). Published as freeware in 1991 and widely used around the world for encrypting e-mail messages and securing files, PGP is available for commercial use and as freeware for (R) Desktop 8.1, the newest version of its expanding security product line for individuals, workgroups, organizations, governments, and enterprises. PGP Desktop 8.1 is ideal for organizations that need to exchange secure email and files with external business partners such as suppliers, vendors, customers, contractors, auditors, and legal counsel.
