(PGMS PGMS Professional Grounds Management Society PGMS Physician Group Management Services (healthcare technology consulting firm) ) will hold a series of grounds management seminars and site visit programs March 9-10 at Arizona State University Arizona State University, at Tempe; coeducational; opened 1886 as a normal school, became 1925 Tempe State Teachers College, renamed 1945 Arizona State College at Tempe. Its present name was adopted in 1958. in Tempe, Ariz. The seminars will feature classes on customer service, staff motivation, time management and benchmarking, diversity management and leadership. The visitation program will include behind-the-scenes tours of ASU ASU Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) ASU Appalachian State University ASU Arkansas State University ASU Angelo State University ASU Alabama State University ASU Australian Services Union facilities, and a trip to the Phoenix Zoo. "The programs are designed to fill a real need for the grounds manager" said Ellen Newell, PGMS president and assistant grounds manager for ASU. "The goal is to have attendees come and really learn, think and leave with solid management and leadership ideas that they can then implement at their own facilities." The ASU regional seminar and site visitation will be the first of two scheduled by PGMS in 2006.
