PETsMART OFFERS REBATES ON PET ADOPTIONS DURING 'LUV-A-PET' MONTH
PHOENIX, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- PETsMART, the nation's leading retailer of pet food and supplies, is making it easier than ever to adopt homeless pets from shelters and humane organizations during its semi-annual "Luv-A-Pet" month.
Throughout the month of June, PETsMART will offer a 25 percent cash rebate on any pet adoption from a shelter or animal humane organization. New pet owners can simply bring their adoption papers to any PETsMART store for an on-the-spot cash refund. No purchase is required, and new owners are encouraged to bring their new pets with them into the store to receive their rebate.
"Luv-A-Pet allows PETsMART to take an aggressive role in promoting the adoption of abandoned animals," said Cozette Phifer, promotions manager. "Luv-A-Pet supports the unselfish efforts of the many animal humane organizations throughout the country who rescue and care for abandoned pets. We're proud to be a part of the drive to end the pet overpopulation problem in our country."
The Luv-A-Pet program is just one example of PETsMART's dedication to the care and well-being of companion animals. Concerned with the large number of abandoned pets in our country, PETsMART does not sell dogs, cats, puppies or kittens in any of its stores nationwide. Instead, PETsMART advocates the adoption of pets through local shelters and other qualified facilities.
PETsMART supports animal humane organizations in all of its markets through special store events like Luv-A-Pet. In addition, it regularly donates store space to these organizations to offer pets for adoption.
A distinguishing characteristic among PETsMART stores is its commitment to customer service and satisfaction. PETsMART achieves this goal through rigorous training of its store associates. Every employee participates in a series of specialized educational training programs that cover each area of the industry from dogs and cats to birds, fish, equine sciences and more.
PETsMART currently operates 40 stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, with corporate headquarters in Phoenix. PETsMART expects to open approximately 30 new stores by year's end.
