PETRONAS Research & Scientific Services' technical report on CEM Catalyst Fuel System completed.NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 1996--The management of Ecology Pure Air International Inc. (EPAI) (formerly known as Mark Four Resources Inc.), in keeping with the company's global marketing strategies, particularly in the Asian region, is pleased to announce completion of a major milestone. Tests were conducted on June 21-23, 1996 at the PETRONAS PETRONAS Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Malaysia's national petroleum corporation established 1974) Research & Scientific Services Sdn Bhd. (PRSS PRSS Passive Ranging Subsystem ) Vehicle Emissions Testing Laboratory located in Section 27, Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsam, Malaysia. PRSS is a 100% wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock. Notes: In other words, the parent company owns the company outright and there are no minority owners. of Petronas, a multi-billion dollar integrated oil company in Malaysia and listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) Established in 1973, the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) is the only stock exchange in Malaysia. . The tests were described as the "Cold-Start and Hot-Start" emissions test of the European CEC-RF-08-A-85 Reference fuel treated with CEM CEM contagious equine metritis. CEM selective medium chocolate agar made with Eugon agar and 5% horse blood; used to cultivate Taylorella equigenitalis. Catalyst Fuel System using two different models of PROTON WIRA vehicles. The tests were conducted with close supervision by Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), an institution affiliated with major standard organizations worldwide which includes British Standards Institution (BSI BSI - British Standards Institute ) and the Canadian Standards Association See CSA. (CSA (1) (Canadian Standards Association, Toronto, Ontario, www.csa.ca) A standards-defining organization founded in 1919. It is involved in many industries, including electronics, communications and information technology. ). The objective of the test program is to compare the "Cold-Start and Hot-Start" emissions of CEC-RF-08-A-85 Reference fuel treated with and without CEM Catalyst Fuel System using two different models of PROTON WIRA gasoline vehicles. In the emissions testing program for the evaluation of CEM Catalyst Fuel System, two different models of PROTON WIRA namely PROTON WIRA 1.6XLi Aeroback-Multipoint injection (Automatic) and PROTON WIRA 1.6XLi Sedan-Multipoint injection equipped with catalytic converter (Automatic) gasoline vehicles were used. Each test vehicle was tested at cold and hot starting using untreated and treated reference fuel. The baseline emissions of each vehicle was established based on the untreated reference fuel emissions measurement. When using the CEM Catalyst System, overall emissions results show that there was a reduction in both the cold-start and hot-start emissions of the vehicles. For both vehicles, the emissions reduction ranging up to 22% for Carbon Monoxide (CO), 4% for Total Hydrocarbon (THC THC tetrahydrocannabinol. THC n. Tetrahydrocannabinol; a compound that is obtained from cannabis or is made synthetically; it is the primary intoxicant in marijuana and hashish. ), and 4% for Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) were observed in cold-start emissions testing, whereas for the hot-start, a reduction ranging up to 54% for CO, 34% for THC, and 22% for NOx were recorded. As the result of the positive data generated, the company will start to work on establishing a commercial relationship with Petronas. EPAI is an environmental technology company. It has developed and is in the process of implementing the commercial application of its Combustion Efficiency Management Catalyst (the "CEM Catalyst"), a precombustion device intended to reduce the emission of pollutants in automobiles, motorcycles, lawn mowers and other vehicles and machinery.
