 PETERSEN JOINS BOARD OF GLOBAL NATURAL RESOURCES
 HOUSTON, Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Natural Resources Inc.


(NYSE: GNR) announced today that Sidney R. Petersen, 62, has been elected to serve on its board of directors replacing Roger Chapman who recently retired.
 Petersen held various executive positions in his 30 years in the oil industry, with Getty Oil Company, where he served as chairman and chief executive officer from 1980 through 1984. Petersen is currently a member of the boards of Avery Dennison Corporation, Nicor, Inc., and Carter Hawley Hale Stores, Inc. He also serves on the board of trustees of the California Institute of Technology and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

 Global Natural Resources Inc. is a Houston-based energy company engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas in North America. The company also owns an interest in long-term oil and gas production sharing contracts in Indonesia and has joint venture projects in Tatarstan-Russia and Argentina.
