PETER PARROTT NAMED GENERAL MANAGER OF MOTORSPORTS INTERNATIONAL, INC.
 DETROIT, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter Parrott has been appointed general manager of Motorsports International, Inc., a subsidiary of Penske Performance, Inc., according to an announcement today by Walter P. Czarnecki, executive vice president of Penske Corporation.
 Parrott will be responsible for the company's operations which include motorsports showcar programs and special event promotions. He will also oversee the company's performance merchandise distribution system in St. Peters, Mo., where he will be headquartered.
 Parrott is rejoining the Penske organization after serving as team manager for Vince Granatelli Racing and as crew chief for Walker Motorsports during the past three years. Previously, he was a chief mechanic with Penske Racing from 1978 to 1988. His achievements include 1984 and 1988 Indianapolis 500 victories with Rick Mears.
 Parrott also worked on Penske's Formula 1 program with Penske Cars Ltd. based in Poole, England, from 1975 through 1976, then moved to the Indy Car program.
 Parrott and his wife, Diane, have two children and will live in the St. Louis area.
 Motorsports International, Inc. and Penske Performance, Inc. are subsidiaries of Penske Corporation, a diversified transportation services company which includes Detroit Diesel Corporation, Penske Truck Leasing Co., and a southern California-based retail automotive group.
