PET juice bottle offers extended shelf life. (Keeping Up With: Blow Molding).Single-serve, hot-fill juices are being packaged for the first time in PET bottles that provide one-year shelf life. The secret is a combination of MDX (MultiDimensional EXpressions) A multidimensional query language. MDX uses syntax similar to SQL, but whereas SQL is used to query relational tables, MDX is used to query multidimensional cubes (OLAP databases). See SQL and OLAP. 6 barrier nylon, cobalt-based oxygen scavenger, and a PP barrier closure. The bottle is a 16-oz, three-layer structure developed by the Constar Div. of Crown Cork & Seal Co., Philadelphia. It is used to package nine juices sold by Toronto-based Alfresh Beverages Canada. The 12-month shelf life was made possible by Crown Cork's Oxbar cobalt catalyst technology. This oxygen scavenger is blended into the MDX6 core layer, where it blocks oxygen ingress An entrance.
