PERU.
COMMONWEALTH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, a U.K.-based investment
group, is sinking $1 million into Ferrocarriles del Peru, which recently
won the 30-year concession to operate and maintain the world's
highest railway, the Peruvian Central Railway. The railway runs through
the country's huge mining region. It is the CDC'S first
railway investment in Latin America.
