Executive suite: At Lee Enterprises Inc. of Davenport, Iowa, Rosanne Cheeseman has been named vice president of sales and marketing; previously she had been associate publisher of the North County Times in Escondido, Calif. (a Lee paper). Cheeseman, who was named associate publisher only a few weeks ago, earlier served at Lee HQ as director of sales and marketing between 1998 and 2002. She started her newspaper career in 1986 at Wisconsin's Edgerton Reporter. ... At the Associated Press in New York City, Lorraine Cichowski has been named vice president for product development; most recently she was president and chief operating officer of eMarketWorld.com. Earlier in her career, Cichowski was a reporter and editor for the AP and was with USA Today in a variety of capacities, including deputy managing editor of the "Money" section, director of special projects, vice president and general manager and senior vice president in charge of developing the paper's on-line and wireless strategies. ... At Belo Interactive of Dallas, Wesley Jackson has been named general manager and will also serve as a vice president of parent Belo Corp.; previously he was vice president of sales at Belo Interactive. Jackson has been with Belo since 2000 and earlier in his career worked in sales, marketing and management jobs at newspapers, radio stations and on-line operations. ...

Publishers please: At the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Elizabeth "Betsy" Brenner has been named publisher; previously she was publisher of the News Tribune of Tacoma, Wash. A lifelong newspaperwoman, Brenner started her career as a reporter and columnist at the Chicago Tribune. Later she was a marketing executive at the New York Times and worked in marketing and circulation at the Miami Herald and Denver's Rocky Mountain News -- at the latter she was senior vice president for marketing and sales. In 1996 Brenner was named publisher of The Sun in Bremerton, Wash., and two years later went on to become Tacoma's publisher. Taking Brenner's job in Tacoma will be Cheryl Bright Dell; previously Dell had been the publisher of the Tri-City Herald in Kennewick, Wash. (both are McClatchy papers). Before joining the Herald as publisher in 2000, Dell was the vice president of sales and marketing at McClatchy's Central California paper, the Fresno Bee.
