Publishers: At New York's Niagrara Gazette and three other titles in Niagrara County, Steve Braver has resigned as publisher; he had been with the paper since 1999. Earlier in his career, Braver was general manager of Maine's Portland Press Herald and has worked for papers in Nevada, Pennysylvania and Indiana. The Niagrara County papers are owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. of Birmingham, Ala. ... At the Ohio Valley Publishing Co., Den Dickerson has resigned as publisher. Ohio Valley, which produces a trio of newspapers including the Daily Sentinel of Pomeroy, has retained the services of Carl Esposito as interim publisher; earlier Esposito was publisher of the Middletown Journal and a group vice president for Cox Ohio. Ohio Valley Publishing is also owned by CNHI. ...

Editors: At The News-Sentinel of Fort Wayne, Ind., Linda Austin has been named executive editor; previously Austin was managing editor of the News and Record of Greensboro, N.C. and earlier had worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Dallas Times-Herald and North Carolina's Winston-Salem Journal. Austin replaces Joe Weiler, who had been with the paper for 20 years, serving the last 14 as executive editor. Weiler retired Feb. 1. ...

Front office: At The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, W.Va., Jill Nevels-Haun has been named managing editor. Nevels-Haun had been state and regional editor of Kentucky's Lexington Herald-Leader since 1999 and earlier in her career had been the city editor of Ohio's Marietta Times. From 1996 to 1998, Nevels-Haun was an assistant city editor in Huntington. ... #
