Personette had been the owner/manager of the Fox Field Cafe. After she gave that up, she became a consultant, assisting her mother Marsha Gagnon's income tax preparation clients.

Disabled by diabetes and the unrelated loss of sight in one eye, she was unable to hold a paying job but she was dedicated to helping other people lead fun ives.

She especially wanted young people and seniors to enjoy the music which was so much a part of her life with Symons. They both loved to entertain at schools, nursing homes, senior centers, weddings and dances.

Personette was a natural organizer, her mother said.

``She could put her finger on any important piece of information or compact disc at a moment's notice,'' said Gagnon. ``I went to look for a picture this morning and there they were carefully filed right where they should have been.''

In addition to Symons and Gagnon, Melody is survived by two sons, Jason Personette of Lake Charles Lake Charles, city (1990 pop. 70,580), seat of Calcasieu parish, SW La.; inc. 1867.
