King generally repeated the questions posed by debate moderator Jim Lehrer and pushed Perot for elaboration. But without the thrust and parry of a debate, the interview had a far different flavor. Although the CNN interview was billed as a chance for Perot to answer the same questions as the major-party candidates, he brushed aside some of the topics. For instance, he waved off a question about U.S. policy toward Cuba as ``an insignificant issue'' given the time available, saying, ``Certainly we should not develop a relationship with Cuba.''
