PERMAFLOW(TM) GUTTER GUARD SYSTEM HANDLES RAINWATER, KEEPS GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS FREE OF DEBRIS

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The scientific principle of liquid adhesion is the secret to how the new PermaFlow(TM) Gutter Guard System channels clean rainwater into gutters and downspouts, while preventing leaves, twigs and other debris from entering and clogging the system. PermaFlow Gutter Guard System is a patented product of Crane Plastics.
As rainwater flows off the roof and over the downward steps of PermaFlow, the natural surface tension of the water causes it to follow the surface contour into water-carrying channels and through drainholes into the gutter. At the same time, the leaf and twig debris falls over the downward steps of PermaFlow and onto the ground below.
Unlike wire-mesh or plastic dome products, which are only partially effective, PermaFlow eliminates the need for frequent gutter cleaning and prevents downspout and drainpipe clogs that can lead to sagging gutters and rotting fascia boards. When leaves, pine needles and other debris clog foundation drain tile, the water that should flow quickly into a storm sewer backs up and can actually crack basement walls and allow moisture to seep into living spaces on the other side.
In testing on typical homes, PermaFlow has been proven effective in eliminating clogging while maintaining water flow in all kinds of rain conditions, from light sprinkles to heavy downpours.
PermaFlow is made of tough, rigid polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the same material used in vinyl siding. That means it is durable, flexible and resistant to cracking or chipping, even under the toughest weather conditions. PermaFlow material is formulated to withstand extreme temperatures, ultraviolet exposure, and weathering, so it will retain its original shape and color through years of use.
Installation is simple. Standard four-foot lengths can be cut with the same tools used for vinyl siding. A flat tab, which extends off the rear of PermaFlow, tucks neatly under shingles. A flexible joint conforms to any gutter or roof pitch. PermaFlow snaps onto the edge of the gutter for a snug fit that even stands up to high winds.
The system is available from many siding and building-products suppliers, and do-it-yourself retailers. For more information, or the name of the nearest supplier, contact Crane Plastics, 2141 Fairwood Ave., P.O. Box 1047, Columbus, Ohio 43216-1047; telephone, 800-726-7328.
