PERFORMERS TO GRACE MUSIC BENEFIT FOR SCHOOLS.

Byline: Tere Marshall Daily News Staff Writer

The Agua Dulce Elementary School Booster Club and Agua Dulce Lions Club will hold a children's music benefit titled ``Music in the Moonlight'' on Sunday at the community's Vasquez Paradise Park.

The benefit is planned as an elegant evening beginning at 4 p.m.

Comedian Sandy Wolshin will begin the after-dinner program, followed by a performance by Jerry and Beth Folsom on classical horn and violin. Jerry Folsom is the principal horn for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and has appeared as a soloist in concertos with various orchestras, including the La Jolla Chamber Festival and the Mainly Mozart Festival Orchestra.

Beth Folsom is a violinist who also played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and is now assistant concertmaster for Yanni and concertmaster for the Symphony of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. Both Folsoms have worked on recordings for motion pictures, television, CDs and commercials.

``We asked the Folsoms to play at the music benefit because they have children in our school,'' said Shauna Comber, president of the Booster Club. ``They're very committed to music and are an example for our kids to see where formal music training can take you. We're overwhelmed at the gracious donation of their personal time to our cause, knowing how busy they are with their touring and recording.''

The proceeds for the event will pay the salary of a full-time music teacher at the school.

``We hope to have a music teacher visit each of our classrooms twice a week for 30 minutes,'' Comber added. ``We want to help ensure that our children get all the benefits of a well-rounded education.''

The benefit will present a live and silent auction with items including jewelry, art and movie memorabilia. A buffet dinner also will be served. For information, call (805) 268-1454.
