Woman picks up lengthy list in South Eugene play

In "Wonder of the World," which opens Wednesday at South Eugene High School's little theater, a wife leaves her husband to start doing the things that really matter in life - all 267 of them.

South Eugene High School South Eugene High School is a public high school located in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was founded as Eugene High School around 1900, and was located at Willamette Street and West 11th Avenue in a brick building that later served as Eugene's city hall.  is at 400 E. 19th Ave.

The show contains strong language and mature content.

Ballroom troupe to light up the night at the Wildish

SPRINGFIELD - The Southern Utah University Southern Utah University, or SUU, is located in Cedar City, Utah. It was founded in 1897 as an extension of the Utah teacher training school by the citizens of Cedar City.  Ballroom Dance ballroom dance

at Eugene Noise Fest 2007

 will present a four-day gathering of international sound artists for the third annual Eugene Noise Fest 2007, running today through Sunday at DIVA, 110 W. Broadway.

Sound artists working with "nonmusical" sources will provide acoustic explorations and auditory experiences.

Rhythm From Wreckage kicks off the fest at 8 p.m. today with a preliminary evening of video art, including the screening of works by Nate Harrison and Gijs Gieskes, and short video pieces by visiting Noise Fest artists. Admission is $5.

Official festival performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday with "electro-charged" sounds from Ecomorti, Soup Purse, Bloodson Drifter, Blue Sabbath Black Cheer, Brizbomb, Blowupnilist, Brutophilia Crude Drawings, Instagon, Pulse Emitter, Riververb, Vankman and Xenization.

Recorders to play lobby

at free lunchtime concert

Members of the Eugene Recorder Ensemble will perform in a SHOcase concert at 12:15 p.m. today in the lobby of the Hult Center, Seventh Avenue and Willamette Street.

Amphibious play leaps

over to Actors Cabaret

Due to lower than anticipated ticket sales, the final three performances of the Actors Cabaret of Eugene production of "A Year With Frog and Toad A Year With Frog and Toad is a musical written by brothers Robert (music) and Willie Reale (book and lyrics), based on the Frog and Toad children's stories written and illustrated by Arnold Lobel. " will be moved from the Hult Center's Soreng Theatre to Actors Cabaret, 996 Willamette St.

Dinner, dessert and beverages will be available Friday and Saturday for the 7:30 p.m. show. Dessert and beverages only will be available for the 2 p.m. Sunday matinee.

Tickets are $18 reserved, $15 general admission, $34.95 with dinner.

Silva featuring double dose of Clifford on Sunday

"Clifford the Big Red Dog -LIVE!" will be presented at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday in Silva Concert Hall at the Hult Center.

In this production, Clifford and other characters from Birdwell Island - Emily Elizabeth, Cleo, T-Bone, Jetta and Charlie - put on their own musical play.

Arts programs to benefit from ForTEAssimo event

Arts Umbrella will host its second annual benefit tea, "ForTEAssimo," at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church Episcopal Church, Anglican church of the United States. Its separate existence as an American ecclesiastical body with its own episcopate began in 1789. Doctrine and Organization

Eugene vocal ensemble tackling Queen classic

The Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble will perform "Bohemian Rhapsody" at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wildish Theater in Springfield and at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Soreng Theatre at the Hult Center.

The concert, directed by Diane Retallack, will include a new vocal arrangement of the rock classic by Queen as well as "all things Bohemian" - from folk tunes to classical music to songs from the Broadway musical "Rent."

The special guest guitarist will be Scott Huckabay. Also included will be folk art folk art, the art works of a culturally homogeneous people produced by artists without formal training. The forms of such works are generally developed into a tradition that is either cut off from or tenuously connected to the contemporary cultural mainstream.  songs composed by Antonin Dvorak, Bedrich Smetana and Leos Janacek.

Admission is $10 for the performance at the Wildish, 630 Main St. Springfield, and $16 to $29 for the concert at the Hult. For tickets, call 687-6865 or 682-5000.

Youth orchestras' finales coincide with auction

Arts Umbrella's four youth orchestras will perform season three finale concerts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and May 24 in the South Eugene High School auditorium, 400 E. 19th Ave.

The concerts are being held in conjunction with the Arts Umbrella annual silent auction, with items to be displayed in the lobby before and after each performance.

Tuesday's concert features a performance by beginning String Academy musicians, conducted by Lauralie Kallinen, Peggy Rubinstein and Sarah Kreger. In addition, there will be performances by Encore Strings, conducted by Ruth Root, and the Eugene Little Symphony, conducted by Forrest Moyer and Chet Peterson.

On Wednesday, the Junior Orchestra, conducted by David Chinburg, will perform full symphonic works. Percussion, woodwind, brass and string ensembles will perform chamber music under the direction of coaches Brian Scott, Alice Burke and David Bender.

The May 24 concert spotlights the Eugene Youth Symphony, conducted by Richard Long. The program features a violin solo by Alison Luthmers.

Advance tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for students and $15 per family; they are available by calling 484-0473.
