Byline: The Register-Guard

One-woman show about chocolate visits Eugene

`Chocolate Confessions,' a one-woman musical comedy about love, life and chocolate, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Eugene's First Christian Church, 1166 Oak St.

Lake Oswego actress Joan Freed created and performs the show.

The scene is set in a chocolate shop, where Freed is in the role of the proprietor. During the course of a morning, she portrays numerous customers who come into her store to satisfy their addiction to chocolate.

She has performed the show on the West Coast as well as in New York City. She most recently presented her show at the Oregon Chocolate Festival in Ashland last month.

The show is being sponsored by the Eugene Gleemen. Chocolate creations by Larsen's Fine Candies and Euphoria Chocolate will be available beginning at 6:45 p.m. and during intermission. Tickets are $15; call 688-9798.

Adult acting class to be

offered at Lord Leebrick

Richard Leebrick - a playwright, actor and director - will teach an adult acting course at Lord Leebrick Theatre beginning Sunday and running Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through June 4. Tuition is $95.

For beginning through intermediate students, the class called "Exploring the Stage" is to prepare the actor to be at ease in performance. Registration forms are at www.lordleebrick.com. For more information, call 684-6988. The theater is at 540 Charnelton St.

Gay men's chorus

to perform in Salem

The Portland Gay Men's Chorus will perform Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Hudson Hall at Willamette University in Salem.

The free concert will feature "Metamorphosis," an extensive choral and orchestral song cycle that centers on the struggles of "coming out" within families and communities of faith.

The 2004 composition by Robert Seeley and lyricist Robert Espindola was written for the Twin Cities (Minn.) Gay Men's Chorus.

The work consists of a series of songs about personal identity, relationships with loved ones and life changes. It is accompanied by a full orchestra.

Also on the program are humorous works by Eric Lane Barnes of Seattle and the "AIDS Requiem" by Portland composer David York.

Seminar to focus

on piano duets

The Oregon Music Teachers' Association will hold a free program on "Teaching the Piano Duet Literature," with guest speakers Timothy and Nancy LeRoi Nickel, from Marylhurst College, Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 4445 Royal Ave.

Hult noon hour show

to feature magician

Vincent Sansone will appear as "Invisible Vincent the Magician" at 12:15 p.m. today in the lobby of the Hult Center, Seventh Avenue and Willamette Street.

Bring your lunch to the free program. Parking in the Hult garage also will be free on the third level and above between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
