Gershwin, Sousa tunes

Marches by John Phillip Sousa and songs by George Gershwin will be featured in the Springfield Community Band's free 10th anniversary concert at 1 p.m. today at Island Park, 200 West B St., Springfield.

Directed by Dana Demant, the band will play Sousa's "Washington Post March," "El Capitan," "Stars and Stripes Forever For other uses, see Stars and Stripes Forever (disambiguation).
"Stars and Stripes Forever" is a patriotic American march widely considered to be the magnum opus of composer John Philip Sousa. By act of Congress, it is the National March of the United States of America.
