PERFORMANCE'S NEW LOGIC FAMILY REDUCES NOISE IN HIGH-SPEED APPLICATIONS

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Performance Semiconductor has begun shipping the first 15 devices in a new, high-speed, low-power, CMOS logic family. Designated the FCT2-T(TM) family, the devices feature, in addition to Performance's proprietary ground-bounce control circuitry, on-chip 25 ohm terminating resistors designed to minimize reflections, or standing waves, in high speed applications. By including the 25 ohm termination resistors on the chip, overall board space and component count are reduced.
Devices in the FCT2-T family include buffers, registers, latches and transceivers and are offered in three speed grades, standard, A, and C, with propagation delays as low as 4.1ns for typical functions. A wide range of packaging options are available including PDIP, SOIC, QSOP and certain military grade ceramic packages.
Pricing for a typical function such as the P74FCT2373T or P74FCT2257T starts at $1.25 in lots of 1,000. Delivery is ex-stock.
Manufactured in Performance's 0.7 micron CMOS PACE II(TM) Technology, the FCT2-T family is offered along with the company's standard FCT and FCT-T logic families, further expanding a logic designers alternatives when the highest performance, low power CMOS Logic integrated circuits are required.
Performance designs and markets high-performance interface logic, static RAMs, and MIPS RISC and P1750A microprocessors in sub-half-micron CMOS technologies that are manufactured in its production-proven PACE II/III CMOS 6-inch wafer fabrication facility. The company's headquarters and wafer fabrication and test facility are located in Sunnyvale.
