PEREGRINE SYSTEMS LAUNCHES INTEGRATION ADAPTER FACTORY BUSINESS.

Peregrine Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRGN), has launched its Integration Adapter Factory, a new line of business focused solely on developing and supporting industry-standard adapters for leading Application Server and Enterprise Application Software vendors.

As a software applications provider, Peregrine is responding to customer demands for effective integration capabilities as companies are forced to integrate disparate applications across multiple technology platforms. Businesses require integration solutions based on the same emerging standards as their application infrastructure. The dominant standard for application infrastructure is Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), and newer standards such as Web Services and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML). These standards are helping commoditize the adapter market, giving customers what they need: a comprehensive integration solution featuring consistent quality and lower cost.

The Peregrine Adapter Factory drives greater ROI and economies of scale as it meets accelerated customer demand for improved integration options. Customers will benefit from Integration Adapters commoditized to an industry-standard integration framework based on a common JCA/J2EE Connector Architecture. This consistent architecture provides a certain level of familiarity across all Peregrine adapters, removing many traditional barriers to IT integration. Additionally, Peregrine's size, presence and existing position in the market afford uncontested global support, tapping into Integration Adapter expertise in 100 offices worldwide.

Peregrine Integration Adapters are already generally available, fully engineered products and provide a wizard-based configuration with graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that leverage application metadata and automatically normalize all interactions to XML. Peregrine adapters provide easy integration with a broad range of common end systems, including SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Siebel and the IBM MQSeries. 2 Database connectivity to Oracle and through JDBC is also supported, as is mainframe connectivity to CICS and TN3270 and TN5250. These leading technology adapters are written in 100 percent Java with native XML support, as well as other data format standards. They are non-intrusive to target applications. Peregrine adapters also support loosely coupled JMS-based integration with IBM WebSphere MQ Integrator.
