 OF TACTICAL VIDEO MAPPING SOFTWARE
 WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Perceptronics Inc. (NASDAQ: PERC) announced today that it recently received a $335,000 contract for delivery of its Tactical Video Mapping (TVM)(R) software to a U.S. defense program, in which it will be used to train military personnel in performing geographically related tasks.
 TVM is a Perceptronics-developed software package for creating interactive electronic map displays on microcomputer workstations from map material stored on videodisc. Videodisc map storage has advantages oftware allows the workstation user to coordinate the capabilities of the videodisc player, microcomputer, computer graphics system, relational data bases and other application programs. Features of TVM include map and image processing, graphic overlay, selection of map scale, user interface control and workstation communications. As part of the present contract, Perceptronics will also provide a user's guide for preparing a videodisc map database.

"While we appreciate recognition of our software capabilities by our defense customers, we are also moving to build a new, commercial customer base as well. We expect to do this through the sale of our advanced simulation software products. These include PERCNET/HSI(R), the powerful graphics-based software for modeling and simulation of the human-system interface that we are now marketing and CACE(R), a unique management software system for computer-assisted concurrent engineering that we plan to bring to market in approximately one year."
 Perceptronics is engaged in research and development and in the manufacture and marketing of computer-based simulation software and systems for commercial and military training and decision support.
