PEP BOYS OPENS FIRST UNIT IN INDIANA

 PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Pep Boys -- Manny, Moe & Jack (NYSE: PBY), the nation's leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain, today announced the opening of its first unit in the state of Indiana.
 The 23,000-square-foot warehouse-format, automotive supercenter is located in Clarksville and features 11 service bays and more than 24,000 SKUs.
 Pep Boys, which currently operates 373 stores in 26 states, said it anticipates opening as many as 16 additional automotive supercenters during the balance of fiscal 1993, including its first units in Kansas and Kentucky.
